In collaboration with Blue Spring State Park, Volusia County and Central Florida Recon, we are adding a second CleanUp at Blue Spring State Park which will take place on September 30th at 8:30am.
Event Details
In collaboration with Blue Spring State Park, Volusia County and Central Florida Recon, we are adding a second CleanUp at Blue Spring State Park! During our last CleanUp in early August we picked up over 38 lbs of trash that could have ended up in waterways and severely hurt or even killed manatees that seek refuge in the spring, such as manatee "Una" pictured above.
We will meet by the playground in the lower parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Please plan to arrive early as the park may fill up to capacity in the morning and there may be a line to get into the park. (There is no back entrance or any way to "hop" the line for people participating in the CleanUp).
4 kayaks are available through Central FL Recon (please contact them directly through their Facebook page) or you can bring your own kayak, canoe or paddleboard.
We are also in need of people to help clean up from land. Equipment will be supplied.
Please bring water, suncscreen, a hat, bug spray and appropriate clothing for an outdoor event. We are supplying buckets, grabbers, gloves and trash bags.
